In 1936, Herkimer Radio began as a small electronics repair shop in a garage in Monroe, MI. Herkimer Radio officially partnered with Motorola in 1948 and thus began our more than 70 year career in the two-way communications industry. We have specialized in sales and service of emergency lighting, two-way radios and accessories. We do full installations and removals.

1936 Herkimer Radio Service started at 326 E. Second Street in downtown Monroe behind the Herkimer homestead by Hazen Herkimer
1948 Herkimer Radio became an authorized Motorola Service Shop (MSS)
1963 Owner, Hazen, passed away in January, Harry came home from college to run the business
1974 Company became incorporated and moved to a larger facility at 606 S. Telegraph, Monroe
1989 Lisa Herkimer-Walters joined the company
1994 Moved to our a larger facility at 2708 N. Telegraph Road, Monroe
1998 Won the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year award
2017 Moved back to our original location at 606 S. Telegraph Rd
